The Balanced Man Scholarship:
Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded on the cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Our founders declared upon formation that “This Fraternity will be different,”-indeed it has. Sigma Phi Epsilon has grown into the largest undergraduate fraternity in the country with over 15,000 current students and over 320,000 lifetime brothers.
SigEp has been a pioneer in Greek Life in many ways, such as eliminating the pledge and hazing process, and forming the Balanced Man Program. The BMP is the member development process of SigEp, in which we guide our brothers towards becoming Balanced Men who are of Sound Mind and Sound Body. This process has garnered national acclaim, and many other Greek Organizations have since implemented their own policies based on SigEp’s BMP.
This scholarship is our way of recognizing, identifying, and rewarding the next group of Balanced Men to enter college-at Northern Kentucky University in our case. This scholarship will be awarded to one or more incoming males attending NKU in the fall, with amounts ranging from $500 onward depending on funds available.
We will notify the student if they are selected to move on to the interview phase, and will award the scholarship in the fall. We look forward to reading your applications and meeting the fine group of young men who will soon be gracing the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
